In a major price revision, Maruti Suzuki India has announced substantial reductions in vehicle prices across numerous models following a GST rate cut. The company divulged that prices will fall by as much as Rs 1.29 lakh in a move set to begin on September 22, offering significant savings to consumers.
The cuts affect a range of vehicles, with the entry-level S Presso leading the price drop at Rs 1,29,600 and others like the Alto Kl0 and Celerio decreasing by Rs 1,07,600 and Rs 94,100, respectively. Higher-end models such as the Brezza and Grand Vitara will also see reductions, all in light of the recent regulatory adjustment.
This decision follows the government's decision to lower the GST from 28% to 18% on cars with engines up to 1200cc and length not exceeding four meters, alongside diesel variants up to 1500cc, marking a significant shift in policy aimed at consumer relief and market stimulation.
