Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the latest GST reforms as transformative, predicting that the state will be the largest beneficiary. He cited Uttar Pradesh's substantial consumer base, rapid infrastructure advancements, and flourishing manufacturing sectors as critical factors driving this positive impact.
Addressing a press conference, Adityanath outlined how the new tax changes would boost farmers, local industries, and job creation while propelling the state towards becoming a prosperous economy. With GST now set at five per cent for agricultural equipment and certain footwear, input costs will be lowered, benefiting over three crore farmer families.
Industries in Agra and Kanpur, major footwear manufacturing hubs, stand to benefit significantly, enhancing employment opportunities. The One District One Product initiative will gain momentum under the revised GST regime, reinforcing local manufacturing. Adityanath credited the reforms as PM Modi's Diwali gift, simplifying tax structures and benefiting the economy extensively.
