MLS Expands Global Reach with South Korean Partnerships
MLS has secured broadcast deals with South Korea's Coupang Play and SPOTV to air LAFC matches. This follows the signing of Son Heung-min, boosting interest in MLS. The agreement enhances the league's global strategy while maintaining coverage on Apple TV through the MLS Season Pass.

Major League Soccer has formalized multiyear broadcast deals with South Korean streaming service Coupang Play and sports network SPOTV, enabling Los Angeles FC matches to be aired throughout South Korea, the league announced on Thursday.
The partnerships follow LAFC's high-profile acquisition of South Korean captain Son Heung-min, a move that has captured worldwide attention and spurred interest among Korean fans. 'Son Heung-min's arrival at LAFC signifies not just a sporting achievement but a cultural landmark in global football,' stated Seth Bacon, MLS's executive vice president of media.
These new agreements supplement the existing MLS Season Pass available on Apple TV, which offers global streaming for all MLS games, including LAFC's. The league emphasized that this arrangement is part of its strategy to enhance international growth by expanding into key markets.
