The Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) has dismissed allegations of water resource misuse and carbon credit fraud against the Vantara rescue and rehabilitation center as unfounded, according to a statement by the center.

A bench comprising Justices Pankaj Mithal and P B Varale accepted the SIT's findings, confirming no legal violations by Vantara in its operations in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The investigation found the allegations exaggerated and lacking factual or legal foundation.

Run by the Reliance Foundation, Vantara clarified it neither sought nor received carbon credits, operating solely on philanthropic funding. The Supreme Court had constituted the SIT following media reports and NGO complaints.
