India is set to embark on an ambitious nationwide plantation drive, aiming to plant 7.5 crore saplings on September 25. This initiative was unveiled by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav on Thursday.
In a symbolic gesture, Minister Yadav spearheaded a tree plantation event at Central Ridge, PBG Polo Ground, alongside 70 diplomats from diverse nations, as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign.
Coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' campaign underscores India's commitment to environmental conservation, urging citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mothers. 'Ambassadors from across the globe joined this initiative. Many became emotional about its significance for our collective future,' Yadav expressed to PTI Videos.
