A brutal attack on Goa-based social activist, Rama Kankonkar, at Caranzalem near Panaji on Thursday, has shocked the community. Eyewitnesses reported the activist was targeted by an armed group.
According to Kankonkar, the attackers aggressively punched him, smeared cow dung on his face, and flung him onto the road while he was near a children's park. The gang, reportedly carrying a knife and a gun, menacingly taunted him about being a protector of Goa.
The motive remains unclear, but police investigations are swiftly underway. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant condemned the attack, asserting that those responsible would face justice promptly.
