NSG Recommends Enhanced Security for Shimla's Iconic Hanuman Temple

The National Security Guard (NSG) has recommended heightened security measures for the Lord Hanuman Temple in Shimla's Jhakoo Hill, following a detailed inspection, officials disclosed on Thursday.

A three-member NSG team, together with district administration officials and the police, assessed the site over two days. Their visit, which commenced on Monday, also included an inspection of the Annandale area, though no security recommendations were made there. The district administration is awaiting formal written suggestions from the NSG, which will inform any decisions on augmenting temple security.

Situated approximately 2,455 meters above sea level, the Lord Hanuman Temple is just 2 kilometers from Shimla's iconic Ridge. It attracts hundreds of devotees daily and sees increased footfall during festivals like Dussehra and Hanuman Jayanti, when additional police personnel are typically deployed.
