The AJSU party has declared that it will actively support and lead the Kurmi community's 'Rail Teka' agitation on September 20, advocating for their demand to be recognized as a Scheduled Tribe and for the inclusion of the Kurmali language in the Constitution's Eighth Schedule.

Former MLA and AJSU central general secretary Lambodar Mahto announced that party leaders would spearhead the demonstrations across various regions, including Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. Prominent leaders like Giridih MP Chandra Prakash Choudhary and Mandu MLA Nirmal Mahto will lead the protests in key districts.

Amidst preparations for the agitation, Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta convened a high-level meeting to ensure law and order is maintained. Enhanced security measures, including the installation of CCTV cameras and the deployment of additional police forces, have been ordered at sensitive railway stations.
