The Odisha Police have escalated the murder investigation of Subhamitra Sahoo, a woman traffic constable, designating it a 'Red Flag' case for rapid action and close oversight, officials announced on Friday.
Sahoo, originally from Paradip, vanished on September 6, only for her decomposed body to be discovered in a jungle in Keonjhar district on September 17. The site is approximately 170 kilometers from her duty post in Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena emphasized the case's urgency due to its classification under the 'Red Flag' category, applied to severe crimes against women. Police have detained Sahoo's husband and two others for their suspected roles in the crime.
