Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra turned their attention towards the pressing issues faced by coffee growers in Kerala's hill district, as they engaged with the community on Friday. The visit was part of a larger effort to understand and tackle the adversities impacting local farmers.
The Gandhis toured the Regional Coffee Research Station in Chundale to gain insight into the challenges stemming from climate change and escalating production costs. The visit included discussions with top officials, with Dr. M Karuthamani and other directors outlining the issues in detail.
In addition to their station visit, the MP duo explored the Swaminathan Research Foundation's initiatives, planting saplings and conferring with Chairperson Soumya Swaminathan through video conferencing to explore potential solutions and collaborations for the coffee community.
