In a significant development in the 2012 Sheena Bora murder case, a witness disclosed on Friday that a Supreme Court lawyer had extended help to Bora's fiancé, Rahul Mukerjea, to file a police complaint after her disappearance, an offer Mukerjea declined.
Testifying before Special CBI Judge J P Darekar, Bora's school friend highlighted that her cousin, a Supreme Court lawyer, advised Rahul to report Sheena's disappearance to the police. However, Rahul failed to do so, reportedly due to non-cooperation from the police when he attempted.
She further testified about familial disputes and a conversation where it was claimed that Sheena was held against her will in a Pune rehab center by her mother, Indrani Mukerjea. The murder case saw light in 2015 after an accomplice's confession post-arrest.
