On Saturday morning, the local community of Nambol in Manipur's Bishnupur district protested the killing of two Assam Rifles personnel during an ambush that occurred the previous day.
Wearing traditional mourning clothes, the locals condemned the attack via slogans and placards at a sit-in near the ambush site. Meanwhile, security forces initiated search operations for the attackers and their vehicle.
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and other officials expressed their condolences and condemned the attack, stressing the need for swift justice.
