In a brazen attack, unidentified gunmen fired upon a police patrol in the Purvi Rai area of Ranchi's Khelari district, leaving one constable injured, authorities confirmed on Monday.
The assault occurred around 11:30 PM on Sunday, catching the patrolling police team off guard. The victim, Constable Ram Sarik, was swiftly admitted to a local hospital in Ranchi where he is currently receiving medical care.
Jaideep Toppo, the officer in charge at Khelari Police Station, stated that efforts have been initiated to apprehend the attackers. Officers are meticulously examining CCTV footage to track down the culprits behind the chilling assault.
