EU Extends Sanctions to Impact Sudan Conflict

The European Union announced on Monday that it will extend its sanctions against pivotal figures in the ongoing conflict in Sudan. These sanctions, which involve asset freezes and travel bans, will now remain in place for another year, lasting until October 10, 2026.

The sanctions list includes ten individuals and eight entities. Among these are companies that manufacture weapons and vehicles for Sudan's regular army, known as the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). Additional companies involved in procuring military equipment for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are also targeted.

This move underscores the EU's continued commitment to curbing the supply of military resources in the region, with an aim to mitigate the intensifying war in Sudan.
