After violent clashes on September 24 resulted in four fatalities in Leh, the district authorities have decided to reopen all schools up to Class 8 starting Friday.
According to an official order, strict adherence to prohibitory orders—banning the assembly of five or more persons—remains in effect. Public transport is permitted to operate from 10 am to 6 pm on October 3, following restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, as stated by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Shabbir Hussain, under the direction of the district magistrate.
The decision comes as the district is gradually restoring normalcy, with curfews being relaxed over successive days since September 30.
