Tragic Land Dispute: Family Ties Severed by Violence

A horrifying incident unfolded in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district, where a 54-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her brother-in-law over a land dispute. The gruesome crime has shocked the local community and prompted an extensive police investigation.

The victim, identified as Sukmati Lohra, was attacked while en route to work in Kitahatu Tola of Latar village. According to police reports, her throat was slit, and her body was later discovered in a nearby forest. Authorities are actively searching for the accused, who remains at large.

Preliminary investigations suggest the murder stemmed from a property disagreement, dismissing any connections to witchcraft. Officer-in-charge Sukumar Hembram has confirmed multiple angles are being investigated as they work to bring the perpetrator to justice.
