Delhi Police has successfully arrested two individuals from Gujarat accused of defrauding a local man of more than Rs 11 lakh through a deceptive online stock trading platform. The platform falsely promised high returns, a police official disclosed on Monday.
The suspects, Jabir Husen, aged 38, and Maaz Arodiya, aged 30, residents of Sabarkantha, Gujarat, were apprehended after a detailed technical investigation. Two mobile phones, debit cards, a passbook, and a cheque book were seized, the official reported.
The arrest followed a complaint filed on May 13 through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal. The victim claimed a loss of Rs 11.20 lakh after investing in a fraudulent app called Blinkxmax, following contact via a misleading Facebook group. The police's investigation has revealed a broader interstate network involved in similar cyber frauds.
