The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has taken a significant step towards modernizing rural water and sanitation monitoring by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) on Monday.

Aimed at strengthening data-driven planning and evaluation, the collaboration will lead to the development of a GIS-integrated decision-support platform under the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen). This platform promises real-time visualization and better-informed decision-making for these initiatives.

By leveraging geospatial technologies, the project aims to enhance transparency and accountability while integrating advanced GIS capabilities into existing digital infrastructure. The agreement's scope includes mapping Rural Piped Water Supply Schemes and aligning with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for optimal resource allocation.
