In a significant step towards rural empowerment, the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) planning exercises concluded successfully on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir's Doongi and Kalakote blocks. Gram Sabha meetings witnessed the culmination of these plans, which will now progress to district-level scrutiny for final implementation.
Kuldeep Raj, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Kalakote, expressed gratitude towards the local populace, acknowledging their pivotal role in shaping a robust plan. "As scheduled on October 2, one project will enhance MGNREGA shelves, while another will advance the Adi Karmayogi Vision Action Plan," Raj remarked, highlighting the integral input of community members in identifying and addressing regional challenges.
Meanwhile, Doongi's BDO, Datta Ram, confirmed that the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, initiated on September 15, was finalized on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. The program prioritized public demands, which were incorporated following comprehensive consultations. Earlier, over 7,000 women-led self-help groups empowered more than 50,000 local women under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), signaling a broader scope of community-driven development initiatives.
