The Central Bureau of Investigation has apprehended Ashok Kumar Jadav, an official tied to the Integrated Financial Advisor (IFA) within the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), on charges of soliciting a bribe. The operation revealed the acceptance of Rs 3.5 lakh to expedite a supply order for CCTV installation at an Air Force station.
The owner of the CCTV firm reported the misconduct, alleging that Jadav, alongside an Air Force sergeant, demanded a bribe of Rs 4 lakh—approximately two percent of a contract valued at Rs 2.5 crore—to facilitate its approval. The sergeant's involvement was corroborated by audio recordings, despite his unresponsiveness to verification calls.
A trap operation on Monday resulted in Jadav's arrest. He was presented before a special judge in Pune following a transit remand from Ahmedabad. Jadav is in police custody, with the case proceedings slated for October 4, 2025.
