Tragic Game: Youth's Gaming Addiction Leads to Mother's Murder in Lucknow

A young man's obsession with mobile gaming led to a tragic murder in Lucknow. Police reported that 20-year-old Nikhil Yadav allegedly killed his 45-year-old mother after she caught him stealing her jewellery to pay off debts accumulated from online betting.

Nikhil attempted to deceive authorities by spinning a tale of a home invasion. However, police were not convinced and tracked him to Fatehpur district. Upon his arrest, stolen items, including gold jewellery, were recovered. This case highlights the dire consequences of gaming addiction and mounting financial stresses.
