Tensions Rise as Syrian Army and SDF Reach Fragile Ceasefire in Aleppo
A ceasefire has been reached between Syria's army and the U.S.-backed SDF in Aleppo after increased tension. The Syrian army's redeployment aims to prevent SDF attempts to seize territory, amid ongoing clashes. A March deal to integrate SDF into Syria's government faces hurdles as both sides accuse each other of provocations.

A ceasefire agreement has been reached between the Syrian army and the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in two Aleppo districts, amid escalating tensions, reports Syria's state news outlet SANA.
The Syrian army's recent redeployment along several frontlines with the Kurdish-led group in northeast Syria was meant to deter attacks and block attempts by the SDF to seize territory, as stated by the Defence Ministry.
Efforts to reconcile and integrate the Kurdish-led SDF into Syria's state institutions have faced obstacles, with mutual accusations of provocations. Despite a March agreement under U.S. auspices, sporadic clashes persist, with regional and international powers closely monitoring the situation.
