Customs Crackdown: Drones, Drugs, and Exotic Animals Seized at Mumbai Airport

In a significant crackdown at Mumbai airport, the Customs department has successfully intercepted smuggled goods including seven drones, suspected hydroponic weed valued at Rs 4 crore, and a collection of exotic animals. Four passengers arriving from Bangkok and Colombo were arrested in connection with the illegal imports, officials reported.

One passenger, arriving from Colombo, was found carrying seven drones valued at Rs 32.19 lakh, hidden inside a trolley bag. This attempt at smuggling was thwarted by vigilant Customs officials who promptly arrested the individual.

Additionally, two cases involved passengers arriving from Bangkok with a total of 3.8 kg of suspected hydroponic marijuana. Further inspection uncovered smuggled exotic wildlife such as iguanas, bearded dragons, and even a dead raccoon, highlighting the breadth of illegal items intercepted.
