A 28-year-old man, identified as Anurag Kesari, allegedly plunged into the Kasheli creek in Maharashtra's Thane district, setting off a large-scale search operation on Monday morning.

At around 10 am, local authorities were alerted by a car conspicuously parked on the Kasheli Bridge, on the road linking Kasheli to Thane West. It led them to believe the driver had leaped into the rushing waters.

Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Disaster Management Cell at Thane Municipal Corporation, stated that teams from the disaster management cell, fire brigade, and Thane disaster response force are diligently working in tough tidal conditions using boats and ropes in their rescue efforts.
