Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday blamed Bhutan for the recent floods in north Bengal, claiming that rainwater flowing from the neighboring country caused significant damage.
While addressing a gathering in Nagrakata, Jalpaiguri district, Banerjee called for compensation from Bhutan and highlighted that the state government is solely responsible for relief and rehabilitation measures.
Further urging the formation of an Indo-Bhutan River Commission, she mentioned an upcoming meeting on October 16, where West Bengal will be represented.
