Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met with the grieving family of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who allegedly took his own life due to caste-based discrimination, in Chandigarh on Monday.
During his visit, Vikramarka extended his condolences to Kumar's widow, senior IAS officer Amneet P Kumar, and other family members. He assured the family of support from both Telangana's government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who personally expressed his sympathies over the phone.
Vikramarka urged Haryana's Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi to pursue legal action based on Kumar's suicide note, which detailed harassment by senior officers, including Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Kapur. Allegations against the BJP government for inaction and promotion of officers with casteist attitudes were strongly condemned.
