A bus carrying Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and his 16 accomplices smoked heavily near Parappana Agrahara Central Prison due to a technical fault, police reported on Thursday.
The incident unfolded a day after a Bengaluru Special Court convicted Kulkarni and others in BJP leader Yogesh Goudar's 2016 murder case, mandating their custody to the CBI.
Thanks to the quick response by the CBI escort team, all aboard, including Kulkarni, were safely evacuated, nullifying potential injuries. The escort team's timely action saved the day, averting a significant mishap.
