Iran Executes Alleged Leader of Anti-Government Network

Iran carried out the execution of Amirali Mirjafari, accused of leading a network with alleged ties to Israel's intelligence and orchestrating the arson of a mosque in Tehran, according to the judiciary's news outlet, Mizan.

The Supreme Court upheld Mirjafari's death sentence, which was executed on Tuesday, as Iran continues to respond to anti-government protests with severe measures.

The country's recent protests, the most extensive in its history, resulted in a major crackdown by authorities, reflecting heightened tension within the Islamic Republic.
