The European Council has placed sanctions on two Russian entities for allegedly spreading propaganda and disinformation from Moscow. The entities, Euromore and the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad (Pravfond), are accused of reinforcing Kremlin disinformation points.
According to a statement by the European Council, the designated entities will face an asset freeze, and EU citizens and companies are barred from making financial transactions with them. Russian officials have criticized the EU for these measures, claiming they curb freedom of expression and exaggerate Moscow's threat.
The EU's latest sanctions have been imposed on 69 individuals and 19 entities tied to activities deemed harmful to the EU's values and stability. Euromore and Pravfond have not provided any comments regarding the sanctions.
