Karnataka Congress MLA N A Haris' son, Mohammed Haris Nalapad, spoke out following extensive raids conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Haris claims the 21-hour searches, which targeted him, his brother, and others, failed to yield any incriminating evidence.
The ED's action is part of an investigation into a cryptocurrency-linked money laundering case involving a series of financial activities tied to crypto hacker Srikrishna Ramesh alias Sriki. The raids spanned more than a dozen locations and were executed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Nalapad, expressing faith in the judicial system, asserted that political motives may be behind the accusations. He mentioned knowing Sriki but denied involvement in any illicit activities. The ED contends that proceeds from the alleged crypto crimes benefitted the Nalapad brothers and others.
