In a recent development, Justice Tejas Karia of the Delhi High Court recused himself from a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Wednesday. The PIL seeks contempt action against AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, for allegedly sharing unauthorized clips of a court hearing on social media.

The plea had been listed for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Karia. It will now be heard by a different bench, according to the court's directive on Wednesday. Petitioned by advocate Vaibhav Singh, the PIL claims that social media sharing of court proceedings can undermine the judiciary's independence.

AAP leaders are accused of conspiring to record and circulate video clips of the proceedings, which Singh alleges was done to tarnish the court's image. The case, involving several parties including major social media platforms, calls for the formation of an SIT to investigate the matter thoroughly.
