An RTI inquiry has revealed that the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has utilized only 43% of the Environmental Compensation fund collected over a decade.
Of the Rs 158.88 crore amassed from pollution fines between 2015-16 and 2025-26, only Rs 68.07 crore has been spent, raising concerns over fund allocation efficacy.
Activist Amit Gupta has questioned why significant amounts remain unspent and demanded transparency on the specific environmental projects undertaken or pending.
