Iran has carried out the execution of Amer Ramesh, who was found guilty of belonging to the Sunni militant group, Jaish al-Adl, and attacking security forces, as reported by the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
According to authorities, Ramesh was apprehended during a counter-terrorism operation in southeastern Iran. He faced charges of armed rebellion, which included participating in bombings and ambushes against military personnel.
Jaish al-Adl is known as an extremist Sunni Muslim militant organization, predominantly active in Iran's impoverished Sistan-Baluchestan province.
