The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) concerning alleged corruption linked to a now-deceased individual related to former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. This individual, Surender Kumar Bansal, allegedly procured a government contract to construct a drain without completing the work.
Initially investigated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Delhi government, the probe was handed over to the CBI by the Ministry of Home Affairs last September. According to allegations, Bansal secured the contract using various company names and drew payments without executing the intended work.
One company named in the FIR is Kamal Singh, with Bansal accused of defrauding the public treasury through fake invoices from Bhardwaj Enterprises. A second FIR implicates Kamal Singh directly. The Aam Aadmi Party has dismissed these claims, labeling them a witchhunt.
