The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched an investigation into the discovery of 79 crude bombs in West Bengal during this election period, according to official reports. This decision comes after a directive from the Union Home Ministry.
Initially registered at the Uttar Kashi police station in the Bhangar division of Kolkata, the case is set to be handled by NIA following a recent order. The Kolkata police found the bombs, highlighting the potential threat to human life and property.
This development followed the Election Commission's call for a police crackdown on illegal bomb manufacturing.
