The Ghazipur police in Uttar Pradesh have filed charges against two social media accounts associated with Congress and the Samajwadi Party for allegedly disseminating false information about an alleged sexual assault and murder case involving a teenage girl.
The girl's body was discovered near the Zamania-Dharammarpur bridge on April 15, with her family claiming she was sexually assaulted and murdered. The police are actively investigating the case and have made several arrests, including the prime accused, Hariom Pandey.
The incident has sparked high tensions, drawing attention from political parties. A recent visit by the Samajwadi Party delegation resulted in violence, leading to injuries among police personnel. In the meantime, calls for swift justice continue to mount from the victim's family and locals.
