In a shocking incident, a loco pilot was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen near Tatanagar station in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The incident occurred around 12.30 am, according to reports from a senior police officer on Monday. The victim, identified as G K Gautam, hailed from Bihar and succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby Railway Hospital.
Initial investigations by the police, led by SP (City) Lalit Meena, revealed that the assailants approached the victim on a motorcycle and shot him at close range. Empty cartridges have been recovered from the crime scene, and CCTV footage is being scrutinized to identify and apprehend the suspects involved.
While the primary motive behind the killing remains unclear, preliminary findings suggest a possible land-related dispute. "We are investigating the case from all possible angles," stated SP Meena, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
