In a decisive crackdown, law enforcement officials have confiscated a significant amount of heroin and Rs 14.07 lakh in cash during a raid on the home of suspected drug peddlers in the R S Pura border vicinity, situated on the outskirts of Jammu city.
According to official sources, the operation was executed following a tip-off, leading police to a residence in Satowali near Ground in Suchetgarh. The raid resulted in seizing the narcotics and cash, with two individuals, Younis Khan and Bashir Ahmed, identified as key players in the local drug trafficking and distribution network targeting area youth.
One suspect was apprehended, while the other is still at large. Authorities have initiated a case under applicable sections of the NDPS Act at the R S Pura police station and are actively pursuing further investigation efforts to dismantle this criminal enterprise and call on the public for any information that could aid in combating substance abuse.
