Railway Police Intercept Suspected Trafficking of Minors at Soro Station

In a significant operation, the railway police have rescued 27 people, including 19 minors, from a suspected trafficking attempt at Soro railway station in Balasore district. The authority's swift actions took place on Saturday evening, as the group arrived by bus from Kaptipada and neighboring areas in Mayurbhanj district, allegedly to board a train to Angul.

Police reported that upon suspicious behavior, two men leading the group were questioned. They claimed the group was heading for a three-day summer education camp at Angul commencing on Sunday. However, authorities found their account lacking credibility, prompting the detention of all involved.

The two adults in the group are currently under interrogation, while the minors have been safely relocated to a child care center in Balasore. This operation underlines the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing human trafficking across the region.
