Tragedy in Tampa Bay: USF Doctoral Students Found Dead
The remains of Nahida Bristy, a USF doctoral student from Bangladesh, were found in Tampa Bay, days after the body of her friend, Zamil Limon, was discovered. Both were murdered, with Limon's roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, facing charges. Investigators continue to probe the motive behind the brutal killings.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the remains of Nahida Bristy, a Ph.D. candidate from Bangladesh at the University of South Florida. Her body was found in a garbage bag in Tampa Bay, unearthed by a kayaker whose fishing line got caught in the bag.
Authorities also revealed the prior discovery of her friend and fellow student, Zamil Limon, whose body was similarly disposed of in the waters. Both tragedies have been attributed to foul play, with Limon's roommate, Hisham Saleh Abugharbeih, now in custody facing two murder charges.
Sheriff Chad Chronister stated that Abugharbeih showed no reaction when confronted with evidence of the crimes. Despite the arrests, detectives are still working to uncover a motive behind these horrific acts.
