In a tragic incident, a boat capsized at the Bargi dam in Madhya Pradesh, resulting in the death of nine people, including five tourists from Tamil Nadu, police reported.
Three of the deceased hail from Tiruchirappalli, namely R Kamaraj, an employee at an ordnance factory in Jabalpur, his spouse Karukuzhali, and their young son Tamil Vendhan. Two others, P Soubhagya and her son P Mayuran, were from Tiruppur.
Efforts are underway by Tamil Nadu authorities to coordinate with counterparts in Madhya Pradesh for the timely return of the victims' bodies using air ambulance services by the coming Saturday.
