The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday intensified its call for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore following the death of a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employee, who allegedly fell from a building in northeast Delhi.
Rajkumar Solanki, a 58-year-old assistant sanitary inspector, died on April 29 near Keshav Chowk in the Welcome area. AAP members claim Solanki was suspended and harassed by senior officials. They also revealed an audio clip where Solanki allegedly stated he was being extorted for Rs 2 lakh to revoke his suspension.
AAP MCD co-in-charge Praveen Kumar accused officials of misusing administrative powers for extortion. The BJP and MCD have not yet responded to these allegations. Meanwhile, police have begun proceedings under Section 194 concerning unnatural deaths.
