A disturbing crime has shaken the Nashik district of India, where a 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl. The incident took place on May 1, police said.
According to Saikheda police inspector Sandeep Gughe, the unfortunate event unfolded when the young victim's father had gone to a wedding. Seizing the opportunity, the accused, identified as Sameer Bhausaheb Mahale, entered the house as the mother stepped out to fetch water.
The assault was interrupted when the victim's brother raised an alarm, prompting their mother to return. The family, involved in agricultural labor in Nashik, reported the crime with the assistance of the NGO Shramjeevi Sanghatana, leading to Mahale's arrest under multiple legal provisions including the POCSO Act.
