Dudekula Shanawaz, a migrant worker from Andhra Pradesh, is poised to return to India after being stranded in Oman amid daunting financial demands from a recruiting agent. The intervention of the Andhra Pradesh government and the state's Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) proved crucial in facilitating her repatriation.

Upon leaving for Oman in 2025, Shanawaz found herself ensnared by an agent's call for Rs 2 lakh, leaving her unable to fulfill her employment or return home. Her situation worsened when her phone was allegedly seized, further amplifying her family's distress in India.

The involvement of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and the APNRTS culminated in successful negotiations with the agents, who ultimately agreed to cover the costs of Shanawaz's return. This incident highlights the Andhra Pradesh government's commitment to the welfare of its migrant workforce.
