Assassination Attempt Unveils New Charges

The U.S. Justice Department has intensified its legal actions against Cole Allen, bringing a new charge of assault on a federal officer with a deadly weapon. This comes in connection with an alleged assassination attempt on President Donald Trump.

Allen is accused of firing at a Secret Service agent while trying to breach security at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, leading to the new four-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Washington.

The suspect, carrying a shotgun and a pistol, was previously facing charges including attempted assassination, use of a firearm during a violent crime, and illegal firearm transportation across state lines.
