The mother of Raj Singh, a man arrested in relation to the murder of Chandranath Rath, aide to West Bengal Chief Minister, has proclaimed her son's innocence and called for a CBI inquiry. Speaking to PTI, Jamwanti Singh insisted that her son has been wrongly implicated in the case.
Jamwanti Singh, an employee in the Rasra post office, reported that both she and her son were taken by police while returning from Ayodhya. She further mentioned that her son was arrested and escorted to Kolkata by flight. She claims her son has never visited Kolkata and possesses evidence supporting his alibi.

No prior information was shared with the Ballia police on this arrest. The murder of Chandranath Rath has sparked significant political reactions and heightened tensions in the region.
