A young man's arrest has stirred controversy in Lucknow, following allegations of coercion and threats directed at a minor. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Shoaib alias Saurabh Singh from Gonda district, is accused of forcing a 15-year-old girl to change her religion.
The police say the accused targeted the minor after establishing contact with her on Instagram, where he built pressure for religious conversion. When resisted, he allegedly threatened to upload her private videos on social media, causing the teen significant distress.
Efforts by the SWAT and surveillance units led to Singh's capture on Sunday near Kisan Path. He is currently under custody after evidence like a mobile phone was seized. Legal proceedings are underway, as authorities verify his past criminal activities across other jurisdictions.
