PM Modi Advocates Fuel Conservation Amid West Asia Crisis
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasizes fuel conservation and reduced gold purchases due to the West Asia crisis. Speaking in Vadodara, Modi urged citizens to rely more on public transport, electric vehicles, and work-from-home practices to reduce foreign currency expenditure.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his call for reduced fuel consumption and greater use of public transport and electric vehicles to address disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis. Speaking in Vadodara, Modi advised citizens to defer gold purchases and consider work-from-home options to further save resources.
The Prime Minister underscored India's dependency on West Asia for crude oil and LPG, emphasizing the need to decrease imports and unnecessary foreign currency uses. Modi highlighted citizens' responsibility to support government appeals in crises, as they have done historically.
In his appeal, Modi called for immediate adoption of fuel conservation measures. He stressed the importance of shifting to public transport and electric vehicles, echoing similar sentiments from a previous address in Telangana. This focus comes amid one of the decade's worst global crises.
