In a heated legal battle over religious sites, the Muslim representation has challenged the Archaeological Survey of India's report on the contested Bhojshala-Kamal Maula complex. Claiming bias, they assert that the ASI favored Hindu claims, focusing on erroneous historical narration.
Senior advocate Salman Khurshid, representing the Maulana Kamaluddin Welfare Society, argued that the ASI report wrongly depicted the mosque as a converted temple without substantiating evidence. The ASI's use of terms like 'Bhojshala Temple' allegedly ignored other historical texts, only strengthening the Hindu petitioners' stance.
Furthermore, the ASI's excavation process has been criticized. Khurshid noted violations of court directives prohibiting physical digs altering the site. As court proceedings continue, the complex's origin remains a focal subject of intense legal scrutiny and religious sensitivity.
