In a shocking incident from Maharashtra's Thane district, the headmistress and two other employees of a private school have been arrested. They face allegations of demanding and accepting bribes from parents seeking admissions for their children, according to an official statement.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) orchestrated a sting operation and caught the accused trio red-handed, accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 4,000 from a complainant. Inspector Anupama Khare confirmed the arrests of headmistress Atiya Baidujman Khan, computer teacher Rizvan Banu Amjad Khan, and clerk Asma Mohsafi Sheikh.
Investigations reveal the accused were extracting illegal charges, including Rs 3,000 under various pretenses and a refundable deposit of Rs 1,000. The ACB has registered a case, and further investigations are ongoing.
